flv2swf v1.2: - DISCONTINUED

macromedia has introduced a new FLV file format some while ago. please note that flv2swf will NOT work together with new FLV files.
for several reasons we are not supporting MM anymore (ever noticed even javascript execution is faster than actionscript?)

flv2swf is a win32 console application that converts FLV files from flash communication server into SWF files.

the reason for using this tool is very simple: flash communication server has limited connections. imagine a user recorded a video-message with flash 6 and it is stored as FLV file on the webserver. - each and every single time somebody wants to watch this video, another connection of flash communication server will be occupied.

if you are using flv2swf, you only need a flash communication server MX connection for recording - the playback can be done as an usual HTTP request, directly over the webserver - and - in this case not using flash communication server MX connections.

recent bugfix: version 1.1 converted nellymoser (soundformat type 6) wrong. now it gives a warning and only converts video data, if any kind of nellymoser sound compression is used. of course the other sound formats are supported.

technical details:

- supporting flash 6 file compression
- supporting mp3 compression
- nellymoser sound compression not supported (undocumented)
